As you know, the Husband and I have been lucky enough to have our lives enriched by two precious dogs, both adopted from shelters. We’re still trying to figure out how we lived without these two and all the joy they have brought to our home. So, naturally, like many of you we were shocked and horrified by the story of the contaminated pet food. At last we may know the cause.

ABC News is reporting that the source if wheat from China adulterated with rat poison, specifically a chemical called aminopterin. Is this really a surprise? The Chinese aren’t exactly going to be nominated for the Dog-Loving Country of the year. Recall their recent mass slaughter millions of innocent dogs. As I asked back in this post on August 3, 2006, do you really think that it’s a coincidence that a society that has contempt for human rights hates dogs?
One thing does surprise me, though. We import wheat from China? They don’t sell wheat a Wal-Mart.
